jQuery - preventDefault() Method

Description:

The preventDefault() method prevents the browser from executing the default action.
You can use the method isDefaultPrevented to know whether this method was ever called (on that event object).

Syntax:

event.preventDefault()

Following is a simple example a simple showing the usage of this method. This example demonstrate how you can stop the browser from changing the page to the href of any anchors.
